In those sort of situations, I go into fight or flight mode. I started putting feelers out and found that my old job was going so I applied and thankfully, I got it. I am back to being a florist again and out the beauty industry, for now or for good, who knows! I was a little apprehensive at first because I felt like it was a step backwards and it sort of felt like stepping into a time machine. Ultimately, I was just relieved to have a job, same hours, better pay and free parking. Win win win.
The last two weeks, I've been working at both so I have been pretty frazzled but you just do what you gotta, can NOT wait for pay day though! I do mainly early shifts and the 5am alarm was a shock to the system but finishing at midday is great.
I'm also looking forward to just being able to enjoy town again. When I starting working in the city centre, I thought "it'll be great, so handy for after work drinks, meeting friends"... I was wrong. Working in town basically just means at least 1 hour traffic jams and paying over the odds for parking a month. I used to love town, really appreciate it but now I just associate it with work. After a few months or so, I think I'll get the love for it back again.
